Frankenwillow

I water the wand
we trust in the ground
Raw.
one July evening.
All night, the hose ran and ran
away to the place I hid.
Chop said the bill was 1 million dollars
she grew and grew
out of his body
into a wild nymph
33
Down she fell, finally.
on a January morning
we came upon a willow’s grave
for good. it was her time, naked
by the fire pit.
And my tears ran and ran away
to the secret cave of the past
where innocence, guarded by the trolls,
still lives.

I really really love this one. Sat with it a while, read it a few times through, and found a connection with it. It's a poor joke that willows are so beautiful but have such short lifespans. I really enjoyed the running away to safer nostalgic memories in this, that's very relatable and came through nicely.
Beautiful!!
